How it Works

WEARMAX Ceramic finishes beat them all.

They are the only After market ceramic finishes that offer a Residential Lifetime warranty against stains and wear thru.

They use Ceramics that are harder than a commercial Diamond, WEARMAX by TRUSTOR Coatings is the most wear resistant product in the market today. Far better than epoxy, titanium or any other coatings.

Most wood floors can be repaired even if they are dented and possibly even gouged slightly. If a few planks are destroyed, they can be replaced one board at a time. These are easy but time consuming fixes.

    How does WEARMAX work?

You do not walk on the finish of a WEARMAX Formula One ceramic floor, but on the ceramic particles. The finish (Top Coat) lies between the particles of ceramic. The ceramic protrudes thru the finish layer.

How to coat your floor with Formula One

First your wood needs to be prepped for the finishing process. You should sand your floor until it is smooth. Start with a coarse grit sand paper about a 50 - 60 grit and work your way to an 80 then 100 or 120 grit or higher. Vacuum the dust and tack cloth the area to remove fine particles that have been missed by the vacuum.

First Coat

Check the moisture content of your wood with a moisture meter. This is very important! Your moisture meter needs to tell you that after you apply each coat, the moisture content of the wood should be within 1% of what the moisture content was before you started applying finishes. You cannot go by feeling for tackiness.

(Reason) If the coatings are not dried all the way you will reactivate the coating under what you are putting on and smudge the coats together. Not really giving you more coats, but a thick mass of one coat that does not fare as well as separate coats. With the Armor coat from Trustor you will run into bonding issues if you are not within 1%.

Your first coat of material can be a primer, a sealer or stain. If you stain you should still seal the wood with a primer if it has never been treated before and a sealer if it has been treated before. the primer and sealers condition the surface so your next coats will adhere the wood. These coats should be applied with a T-bar not a brush. All ends should be feathered with a pad to remove turns from the T-Bar.

After the coating dries you will need to buff the floor with a maroon pad to remove the raised wood grain and particles from the swelling of the water based product.

Do not mix T-bar Sleeves, Roller Sleeves or Pads with different coatings. Keep in separate containers and marked after washing with water. Your rollers, sleeves, and pads will last along time with proper care

Drying times for Sealers,  Armor and Shields is about 1 -3 Hours. Stains on the other hand may take longer. You must use a moisture meter to check if it is dry to within one percent.

Second Coat

Trustors Armor coating is a layer of over 12 million particles of clear ceramic in a bonding coat that stops these particles from moving. Because of the density of the particles the product must be stirred just before each application is pored on the floor. These coats should be applied with a T-bar not a brush. Then distributed evenly with a roller after each T-bar application. All ends should be feathered with a pad to remove turns from the T-Bar.

Third Coat

Trustor coating shield is a thin layer of shield that will give you the sheen you are looking for. (Matte, Satin, or Gloss) These coats should be applied with a T-bar not a brush. All ends should be feathered with a pad to remove turns from the T-Bar.
